The concert agency of Guenther is pleased about the cooperation with Cristalica. This enables us to introduce Solvig and the internationally active concert organist Jochen Lewitz as representatives of this exclusive shop.
Experience her selection of modern glass precioses in the modern artistic context against the concrete background of historical organ building art.
Inspiration is the compass of the soul
I am in a room with historical radiance. It has a very high ceiling and the sun shines in through slightly smoky windows. My fingers rest on ivory keys. Under my feet are 30 pedals. With the next breath, I start to play.
When I first heard the Sauer organ in the magnificent Berliner Dom at the age of 9, 30 minutes away from my birthplace, I already felt that inexplicably deep touch that has accompanied me since that time.
But what makes a professional organist? I have been asking myself this question and others since I first got professional organ lessons at the relatively late age of 24 at Prof. Jürgen Kursawa in Düsseldorf.
I learned the basics at home on my father's organ; my father played from time to time for church services. I progressed very quickly on the piano and won the Berlin-Brandenburger Competition "Jugend komponiert" three times. Also, this keyboard instrument especially fascinates me because it covers a vast range of sounds, unlike the piano, which I can apply to the classical and jazz music I play.
When I play the clarinet, I feel more like singing the melodies internally but playing the piano completes the melody with the right harmony to the soul-touching unity. And when I play the organ with my feet, my whole being seems to merge with this instrument.
It enchants me to explore Bach's architecture. There are structures and modes of action to admire, not only in glass manufacturing and buildings, but also in music. Listening to the organ is like listening to heavenly music. Suddenly, my soul seems bigger and wider than ever before, my intuition gains strength and I feel more vital and alive as if all the music and the sound were flowing through me in every pore.
As if in a frenzy, forgetting space and time, my life, when it came into contact with the organ, began to merge into something new, something much larger, something I had not yet come to see and at the same time, an idea of immortality in the form of beauty and sound made audible.
I hope you will experience, as my other guests have in my concerts, this special idea of something larger which anchors us here on earth and rummages with the same attention in this shop.
Surely you will find something appealing, what you would like to have delivered to your home to how to access a mental baggage again and again. For example standing on your table reading a book or chatting with friends by the fireplace. Maybe you just want to reach the heart of a loved one or appreciate his efforts for your well-being, then you will find a special gift.
There are people who fascinate us after just a few moments. Solvig is such a person and I already have her choice of items in my home because it enriches my life when the wine glasses, during a toast, clink together, in friendship and cordiality. I wish you much pleasure in choosing the lovingly hand-designed items that you will find in this glass manufacturing shop. You will also find beautiful things here that have merged with meaning and perhaps some heavenly fate.
All the best, Jochen Lewitz
